The do’s & don’ts of Facebook marketing in business

Without a doubt, Facebook has grown over the years and it’s stepping up its service for businesses. There are certain things which need to be done and on the contrary, when it comes to your Facebook marketing, certain things which needed to be avoided before you fail miserably in your business’ Facebook marketing efforts.

So here are few do’s and don’ts of Facebook marketing as a key to success for your online business.

Do’s:

Use a recognisable and related profile picture

The profile picture should be related to your business or brand. It should be your company logo or brand related, product or services image. So many at times, business upload irrelevant photos that will drive users away from the Facebook business page. Always keep in mind that the cover photo is like a door to your online viewers. Users should be able to tell what is the nature of your business just by looking at the cover photo or the profile photo of your business page.

Post during strategic times

The best time to post on Facebook is between 1pm to 4pm. It is during the lunch time and tea break timings that are common for Facebook users to check their Facebook app. However, do ensure that your posts are not too lengthy and include in hashtags to attract the attention of your online readers. Not to mention that posting unique content to your business page is one of the crucial points to take note off.

Use page analytics and Facebook insights for performance

Page analytics and Facebook insight help you to monitor the audience segment with the most likely audience and their interest-based targeting to your business. Having enough data and insights to how your prospect customers are viewing your business page is essential in helping your business to grow and improve in its online marketing strategy.

Boost and pin important posts

Important posts or ‘selling posts’ should be boosted via business manager account occasionally or at least once a week to help gain publicity. Pin posts that are related to promotions or competitions that last a few days or weeks. This way, your customers would frequent your business page often to look out for the latest updates.

Don’ts:

Leaving your company profile empty

Facebook profile of your business should not be kept empty in any case. The profile picture should always be uploaded with a detailed description about the company. No matter how busy you are, do post occasionally on your business page. Do not leave an impression of a ‘dead’ business page to your customers.

Creating dummy account or page for business

Do not take risk of creating and posting through a fake account. It will not help you in building up a trust of your interest segmented audience. Be genuine and portray and good business image online. A dummy account will only result in an impression of the lack of credibility and confidence from your customers.

Text-only posts

Unless your customers are a bookworm, then this post doesn’t apply to you. Images and videos tend to get more engagements like receiving likes and getting more shares. A human being in general, are more visual than a text person. Videos, Gifs and other such creatives will definitely do well on Facebook. Don’t end up doing a blank or dull creative post without any liveliness in it.

Taking your time to respond your customers

The response time should be taken care of especially in your Facebook marketing. Ideally, it should not cross 60 minutes for a customer to receive the reply. The response rate and time should always be maintained to build up loyalty.

By implementing these tips, you will be lucky to have a fresh and lively page with all the real audience on your posts and with a huge brand awareness around.
